Почалася Пилипівка! Через наступні тиждні ми готуємося до святкування воплочення Божого Сина. Божа любов така щира, що Господь Бог приходить до нас в самому нашому людстві—через наше життя ми пізнаємо Бога і ми відповідаємо на Божу любов через наше відношення один до одного. В цьому перед-Різдвяному часі поєднаймося з нашими братами й сестрами в Україні та молімся за них і за мир і спокій в Україні.

We have begun St. Philip’s Fast, the 40-day period of preparation for the feast of the Nativity of Our Lord, also known as Advent. We are preparing to celebrate the fact that God’s love for us is so great that He comes to us Himself in the flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ. God’s love calls us to show the love of God in a similar fashion. We come to know God through our deeds as people. Our preparation for Christmas can and should demonstrate not only that we understand this, but that we live it: live God’s love in our actions. That is why every period of fasting (a period of preparation) is about heightening our commitment to prayer and service to each other as a human community.
