The Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League of Canada (UCWLC) is the official association of lay women of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and was organized nationally in June 1944, with the Kitchener branch being formed in 1947.
The aims of the UCWLC are to develop and enrich the religious and spiritual life of each member, thereby strengthening the Ukrainian Catholic Church, preserving and developing Ukrainian culture, bringing awareness to the needs of the family, local community and country, and initiating and supporting programs of charitable action.
Over the many years of its existence as a self-sustaining, non-political, non-profit, charitable organization, the UCWLC has supported and enhanced the concept of church community. Proceeds from its fundraisers have consistently gone to further the church community’s goals and to assist other organizations – both locally and abroad.
Our role as nurturers (in a global sense) has continued to bring women together in working toward a common aim. We welcome women of all ages to become a member of our Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League.
